Septarian is derived from the Latin work septem meaning seven. These nodules were formed 50 70 million years ago in Utah. Mud balls which created this mineral cracked with seven points in every direction creating the crackle pattern. The yellow centers are composed of Calcite, the brown lines are Aragonite and the outer grey skin is Limestone. Septarian ensures
